How often does my backflow assembly have to be tested?
Once a year for most commercial, restaurant and irrigation connections. The city sends a notice with a due date on it — bring us that notice and we’ll work to the date on it.
Do you file the results, or do I?
We do. Results go directly into the City of Abilene's SC Tracking system, and you get your own copy for the file. You should not have to chase paperwork to prove you complied.
What happens if the assembly fails?
We tell you what failed and what it takes to fix it before we leave, and quote the repair or rebuild. Once it’s repaired we retest and file the passing report.
How long does a test take, and will the water be off?
A single assembly takes about twenty to thirty minutes. The water downstream of it is off for a few of those minutes, so tell us if there’s a better time of day and we’ll work around it.
Do I need to be there?
Not usually. As long as we can reach the assembly and shut the water off briefly, we can test it and send you the report afterwards.
What does it cost?
It’s priced per assembly, and it comes down per device when there’s more than one on the same property. Tell us how many there are and where, and we’ll confirm the price the same business day.
